Knitting pattern for a Bucketful of Roses

I hope you enjoy knitting these pretty roses and rose buds and arranging your display. The many advantages of having knitted flowers, of course, is that you don’t have to water them and they stay fresh and colourful all year round!

This would make a lovely handmade gift for someone special or you might even want to keep them for yourself.

The pattern has instructions for knitting the roses and leaves and how to arrange the display.

Materials
Double Knitting Yarn

Roses - 25 gram balls of Cerise Pink, Dusky Pink, Lemon, Yellow, Pale Orange, Bright Orange, Peach, Lavender, White, Purple

2 colours are required for each Rose
Colour 1 Petals and inner flower centre
Colour 2 contrast outer flower centre

Rose Buds - 25 gram balls of White, Bright Orange, Pale Orange, Yellow, Purple, Cerise Pink, Dusky Pink

Leaves - 100 grams Green

Needles 1 pair of 3 mm (UK11–US2) plus double ended needles in same size

A container or vase of your choice - we used a Planter/Bucket 17 cm Diameter (6.5 inches)
Small amount of gravel to weight the base

Strong Floristry Wire or 5 m of 1 mm wire from the hardware store or garden centre

Floristry Foam - Cut to fit the container

Small bag of decorative stones used to secure the roses in your container/vase
