T-Rex Children’s Jacket Knitting Pattern

A quick-knit chunky dinosaur design for ages 1–11 years.

Delight a dinosaur-loving youngster with this bold T-Rex jacket knitting pattern. Worked in chunky yarn, it grows quickly on the needles and features a small T-Rex on the front with a large, eye-catching T-Rex on the back. It is a fun, satisfying project with a truly roarsome result!

Yarn
The sample jacket is knitted in Stylecraft Special Chunky: Parchment (1218) for the background, Teal (1062) for the dinosaur and collar, and a small amount of Pale Rose (1080) for the dinosaur’s tongue. You may substitute any chunky (12 ply) yarn that achieves the tension below.

Tension & Needles
Tension: 14 stitches and 20 rows to 10 cm (4 in) over stocking stitch using 6 mm needles.
Needles required:
• 1 pair of 5 mm needles (UK 6 / US 8)
• 1 pair of 6 mm needles (UK 4 / US 10)
